The Melrose Estate sits on an 80-acre estate, a model of 19th-century Greek revival architecture as well as an example of the booming prosperity of the South during this period. Visitors can enjoy a guided tour of the house, with guides providing an interesting narrative on the Civil War and the role of slaves in the plantation cotton industry. The home is part of Natchez National Historic Park, located south of the city next to the Duncan Park Golf Club.
